Core Scientific Austin Data Center, Capacity and AI Hosting
Overview
Core Scientific’s Austin facility is a completed high-density data center at 3301 Hibbetts Road. A 2026 company filing describes a single building with two data halls, a 16.5 MW data center, and approximately 38 acres. Core’s public high-density facility page lists Austin 1 with 20 MW of total power capacity. TYPE3’s map data still shows an announced record with zero MW, so that map summary is stale relative to the first-party sources.
The 16.5 MW and 20 MW figures use different labels. The former is critical-IT or data-center capacity context in the filing, while the latter is total power capacity on the facility page. Neither establishes that 20 MW is energized, billable, vacant, or available to a new customer. Core’s filings also place Austin in a high-density colocation and CoreWeave relationship context, but they do not turn broader portfolio claims into a specific Austin customer deployment.
Austin’s completed status makes the capacity labels especially important: the 16.5 MW critical-IT figure describes the data-center side, while 20 MW describes total electrical power. The completed building therefore does not by itself answer whether that capacity is currently marketed, occupied, or delivering load. A current commercial or operating update would still be needed to establish availability, occupancy, or present delivered load.

This state sits outside ERCOT and outside the survey. Sponsoring one funds the work of charting it — pulling its interconnection queue, large loads, and price data onto the map.
