Cogent Data Center Austin — 7301 Metro Center Drive
Overview
Cogent’s current Austin office and data-center page identifies 7301 Metro Center Drive, Suite 100, Austin, Texas 78744 as its Austin data center. Cogent describes the facility as offering secure, flexible, and scalable colocation, with 23,227 square feet, 42U cabinets, multiple power options, UPS and backup generation, HVAC, fire detection and suppression, gated access, and camera surveillance. Cogent’s service locator separately classifies “Cogent Data Center - Austin” at 7301 Metro Center Drive as a CDC location.
This is stronger than a directory-only record: the current operator itself confirms the building address and service type. The current pages still do not provide a site-specific MW total, current occupied load, customer-available power, or cabinet vacancy. The listed UPS, generator, and port features describe infrastructure and service capability rather than a promise that capacity is available today.
Cogent’s facility is distinct from nearby Metro Center records, including CyrusOne facilities, and from generic Cogent on-net buildings in Austin. Cogent’s network footprint does not establish ownership of every building where its fiber is available. A buyer inquiry would focus on cabinet type, power circuit, cross-connect path, meet-me-room access, and current service availability. TYPE3’s 0 MW remains the audit value pending a current site-specific power disclosure.
