CyrusOne Austin Campus — AUS2 and AUS3
Overview
TYPE3’s map data lists CyrusOne Austin Campus with CyrusOne Data Centers as operator, Austin as location, Announced status, 0 MW, and coordinates 30.2066, -97.6991. Its note identifies the AUS2–AUS3 campus and reports 242,000 square feet. This is the correct parent topology for the two child records immediately above, but TYPE3’s generic source does not establish current occupancy or available capacity.
CyrusOne’s current Austin page is the strongest parent identity source. It places AUS2 and AUS3 in the Met Center business park, describes the location as seven minutes from Austin-Bergstrom International Airport, and publishes 242,000 square feet of combined IT technical space and 19 MW of total IT capacity. The page also describes powered-shell and build-to-suit capabilities, redundant support systems, and connectivity options at the campus level. It does not assign the 19 MW between AUS2 and AUS3.
Austin Energy’s 2025 resource appendix lists CyrusOne AUS2 at 9 MW of demand and CyrusOne AUS3 at 24 MW of demand. Those entries sum to 33 MW, but the total is not a replacement for CyrusOne’s 19 MW operator figure: the sources may reflect different dates, measurement boundaries, or utility-versus-IT definitions. The difference is material and should be exposed in the parent narrative rather than silently reconciled.
The parent record links to AUS2 and AUS3 while stating that child records remain separate. The two Austin Energy demand values are not added to the operator’s 19 MW, and no number is presented as current saleable inventory. TYPE3’s map data parent remains Announced/0 MW with blank operational fields. This campus remains distinct from CyrusOne’s Austin 1 or other Austin facilities and from unrelated Austin MetCenter operators.
Questions
What is the CyrusOne Austin Campus?
It is the parent campus for CyrusOne AUS2 and AUS3 in Austin’s Met Center business park. CyrusOne currently describes 242,000 square feet of combined IT technical space and 19 MW of total IT capacity. The map keeps AUS2, AUS3, and the parent as linked but separate records.
How much power does the campus use or plan to use?
CyrusOne publishes 19 MW of combined IT capacity. Austin Energy’s planning appendix lists 9 MW of AUS2 demand and 24 MW of AUS3 demand, or 33 MW on a utility-demand basis. These are different source layers, not additive saleable capacity. TYPE3’s map data remains 0 MW.
Is the campus operating?
CyrusOne maintains a current Austin facility page, but TYPE3’s map data operational field is blank and the sources do not establish current campus vacancy or child-level load. Describe a documented operator campus with current availability requiring confirmation.
