CyrusOne AUS3 — Austin, Texas
Overview
TYPE3’s map data lists CyrusOne AUS3 - Austin with CyrusOne Data Centers as operator, Austin as location, Announced status, and 0 MW. It gives the site coordinates 30.2068, -97.7011 and repeats a DataCenterMap-derived description of a 172,000-square-foot shell, 120,000 colocation square feet, and up to 18 MW. Those figures describe a facility layer from the source inventory, not a current available block.
CyrusOne’s current Austin page confirms the parent relationship: AUS2 and AUS3 are presented together in the Met Center business park, seven minutes from Austin-Bergstrom International Airport, with a combined 242,000 square feet of IT technical space and 19 MW of total IT capacity. The parent page does not allocate that total between the two child records. CyrusOne’s compliance matrix identifies Austin III at 7100 Metropolis Drive.
TDLR TABS2022009611 provides a narrower regulatory scope. It names CyrusOne Austin Met III Data Hall 4 at 7100 Metropolis Drive, records a 50,000-square-foot upfit of an existing shell, and shows Project Closed after a 2022 construction window. Austin Energy’s 2025 appendix separately lists CyrusOne AUS3 at 24 MW of demand. The 24 MW demand, 19 MW combined operator figure, and 18 MW map data figure use different scopes or dates and must not be collapsed.
AUS3 is a distinct child record linked to, but not merged with, AUS2 or the CyrusOne Austin Campus. TDLR confirms a data-hall project, while current child-level saleable IT and vacancy are not disclosed. TYPE3’s map data remains Announced/0 MW.
Questions
What is CyrusOne AUS3?
CyrusOne AUS3 is the Austin III facility at 7100 Metropolis Drive. CyrusOne groups it with AUS2 as a combined Austin campus, while TDLR records a 50,000-square-foot AUS3 Data Hall 4 upfit. TYPE3’s map data keeps AUS3 as its own child record rather than duplicating the parent campus.
How much power does AUS3 use or plan to use?
TYPE3’s map data reports up to 18 MW, Austin Energy lists 24 MW of AUS3 demand, and CyrusOne publishes 19 MW for the combined AUS2–AUS3 campus. These are not interchangeable measures. No reviewed source establishes current AUS3 saleable IT availability, so the map retains 0 MW.
Is AUS3 operating?
TDLR’s Data Hall 4 project is marked Project Closed, but that does not establish the current operating status or available load of the whole AUS3 facility. CyrusOne maintains a current campus page. Keep TYPE3’s Announced/blank operational fields and ask the operator for current inventory.

This state sits outside ERCOT and outside the survey. Sponsoring one funds the work of charting it — pulling its interconnection queue, large loads, and price data onto the map.
