Cogent Data Center — Fort Worth, Texas
Overview
TYPE3’s map data lists Cogent Fort Worth as announced at 0 MW with a truncated note already naming 110,078 square feet, 42U APC cabinets, and triple 2,000 kW diesel generators. Cogent’s current Fort Worth page confirms the street address and commercial colo posture: space, UPS and backup generation, HVAC and fire systems, Cogent plus other carriers, wave-enabled ports to 100GE, and building security. Cogent’s service-location directory still codes the site as a CDC at 1400 East Presidio Street, 76102. That is a physical colocation facility, not a virtual network pin.
Power must stay layered. The 2025 wholesale opportunity sheet states 14.00 MW of utility power capacity (kVA listed as 14,000), 10.28 MW of protected power, 52,700 square feet available for wholesale, 3.4 acres, and Oncor / Shell Energy as utility context. Generator language on that sheet and in directories includes mixed 1,500 kW, 900 kW, 800 kW, and 2,000 kW standby units. Nameplate generator kW is backup infrastructure, not IT load and not vacant customer power. Directory “5 MW” figures are aggregator labels and should not replace Cogent’s utility and protected-power wording. The Fort Worth facility at 1400 East Presidio Street is distinct from Cogent Irving at 2511 East Grauwyler, Cogent Dallas 2, and Houston CDCs. Status is current Cogent facility service. Availability and wholesale occupancy require a dated Cogent quote.

This state sits outside ERCOT and outside the survey. Sponsoring one funds the work of charting it — pulling its interconnection queue, large loads, and price data onto the map.
