CyrusOne Bosque County Campus — Thad Hill Energy Center
Overview
TYPE3’s map data lists CyrusOne Bosque County Campus (Thad Hill Energy Center) in Bosque County, with CyrusOne as operator, Construction status, and 190 MW. Calpine’s July 2025 announcement describes a 190 MW agreement with CyrusOne to serve a new data center adjacent to the Thad Hill Energy Center, with land and grid connection secured and an expected Q4 2026 operational date. CyrusOne’s current Bosque County page describes two construction phases: two buildings in phase one and three buildings in phase two, with all phases expected operational by 2027.
The adjacency to a gas power plant is an important identity and power-layer distinction. “Powered land” or a co-located power arrangement does not mean the data center is operating at 190 MW, that the full amount is IT load, or that customers can order it today. Preserve TYPE3’s 190 MW as a source-labeled project figure and keep Calpine generation assets separate from CyrusOne buildings.
Hyperscale development research should distinguish the Bosque County location, power strategy, construction phase, and schedule. CyrusOne has not published the current building-level critical-IT capacity, utility/interconnection status, commissioning milestones, or customer availability. The energy center’s generation capacity is separate from the data-center figure, and adjacency does not guarantee delivery. Phase timing and customer-ready inventory still require direct confirmation.

This state sits outside ERCOT and outside the survey. Sponsoring one funds the work of charting it — pulling its interconnection queue, large loads, and price data onto the map.
