Helios Facility in Dickens County, Texas
Overview
Helios sits north of Dickens in West Texas, on a campus originally built for Bitcoin mining. TYPE3’s map data names Galaxy Digital Holdings as operator and records a CoreWeave lease, while retaining a Construction status for the AI and high-performance-computing conversion. Argo Blockchain developed the site as a 200 MW mining facility on about 160 acres. Galaxy acquired it in December 2022 for $65 million.
In April 2025, KCBD reported that Galaxy had signed a 15-year lease with CoreWeave. The report identified 133 MW as the initial critical IT load, about 200 MW as expected gross peak use, and 600 MW as additional capacity approved by ERCOT at the Dickens facility. These figures answer different questions. None, by itself, proves that the converted campus is fully energized or operating at its eventual scale.
Galaxy also reported demolition work inside part of the existing shell and the removal of mining equipment. That evidence supports an active conversion, not a completed AI deployment. The 133 MW initial IT figure is distinct from the larger gross-use and ERCOT-approved figures, which require their own dates and labels. TYPE3’s 800 MW field remains site-capacity context rather than a current-load measurement. A current Galaxy, CoreWeave, ERCOT, or regulatory update is still needed to verify energization and delivered load.
Questions
What is the Helios facility?
It is a Dickens County computing campus that Galaxy Digital is converting from Bitcoin mining toward AI and high-performance computing with CoreWeave.
Is Helios operating as an AI data center?
TYPE3’s map data keeps the site in Construction status, and the cited 2025 report describes conversion work rather than full-campus operations.
How much power does Helios have?
The reported figures are 133 MW of initial critical IT load, about 200 MW of gross peak use, and 600 MW of additional ERCOT-approved capacity. They are not interchangeable.

This state sits outside ERCOT and outside the survey. Sponsoring one funds the work of charting it — pulling its interconnection queue, large loads, and price data onto the map.
