Google Red Oak Data Center
Overview
TYPE3’s map data lists Google Red Oak as Operating at 350 MW, announced in 2023 and operational in 2025, with city-level coordinates. Google’s Texas location page identifies Midlothian and Red Oak as its two Ellis County data-center locations. That establishes Red Oak as a distinct campus from the older Midlothian Railport site.
Local coverage of the original investment described more than $600 million, a roughly 285,000-square-foot building at 156 N. Austin Boulevard, and about 30 full-time operations jobs. Dallas Innovates later reported that the first Red Oak building was operational in November 2025. Those facts support an operating campus, but square footage and job counts are not megawatts. They also do not show that every hall is energized or that remaining land is committed to Google buildings.
Red Oak is a multi-operator data-center area. Compass, DataBank, and other operators have nearby projects, and reporting that assigns hundreds of megawatts to Red Oak land can refer to those campuses. TYPE3’s 350 MW figure is not a Google disclosure. Site power remains undisclosed unless Google or a regulator publishes a labeled IT, utility, or interconnection number; the campus remains distinct from Midlothian. The building milestone is the supported live evidence here.
Questions
Is Google’s Red Oak data center the same as Midlothian?
No. Google lists both as Ellis County locations. Midlothian is the older Railport campus, while Red Oak is the second Texas site.
How much power does Google Red Oak use?
Google has not published a site MW figure in the cited sources. TYPE3’s 350 MW is not a factual Google headline.
Is the Red Oak campus operating?
Google lists it as a Texas data-center location, and November 2025 reporting said the first building was operational. That milestone does not disclose load.

This state sits outside ERCOT and outside the survey. Sponsoring one funds the work of charting it — pulling its interconnection queue, large loads, and price data onto the map.
