Rowan Moriah Data Center — Temple, Texas
Overview
TYPE3’s map data lists Rowan Moriah Data Center with Rowan Digital Infrastructure as operator, Temple as location, Announced status, 0 MW, and coordinates 31.0580, -97.2979. Its note says Rowan Moriah Campus but provides no current address, power, or operating detail. This is a high-value identity-reconciliation page because current Rowan material treats Moriah differently from its newer Temple hyperscale projects.
The older Moriah project page describes a 500 MW capacity data-center campus in Bell County, acquired in 2020, with two phases and a statement that the second phase was fully operational by 2023. A 2021 Temple EDC announcement likewise described a planned 500 MW campus on roughly 32 acres in Synergy Park, with a first phase of 200 MW and planned 135,000 square feet. Those are historical development and project-marketing layers.
Rowan’s current Temple FAQ materially changes the present interpretation. It says the Moriah facility became operational in 2023, had a tenant until late 2024, and is now being transitioned to a warehouse to support construction and operations teams for a nearby hyperscale project. The same FAQ identifies the site as being along Bob White Road. Rowan’s current Temple project pages focus instead on six newer buildings under construction, approved, or proposed in east Temple. Texas Comptroller records also retain legacy Temple Green and current Temple data-center registrations, reinforcing the need to separate names and legal project eras.
Publish the historical Moriah identity and the current transition clearly. Do not present 500 MW, the 200 MW phase, or historical 135,000-square-foot plans as current IT load or availability. Do not merge Moriah with Rowan’s current 300 MW Project Temple or other east-Temple buildings. Preserve TYPE3’s Announced/0 MW state while explaining that current Rowan material describes a former operating facility moving toward warehouse use.
Questions
What is Rowan Moriah Data Center?
It is a legacy Rowan data-center project in Temple associated with Bob White Road. Older materials described a two-phase 500 MW campus, while Rowan’s current Temple FAQ says the facility operated in 2023 and is now being transitioned toward warehouse use. Keep it separate from Rowan’s newer Temple projects.
How much power did Moriah use or plan to use?
Historical project materials described a 200 MW first phase and 500 MW ultimate campus plan. Those figures are dated development layers, not a current Moriah IT load or available block. Rowan’s current transition account provides no current MW figure, so TYPE3’s map data remains 0 MW.
Is Rowan Moriah operating?
Rowan’s current FAQ says Moriah became operational in 2023, had a tenant until late 2024, and is transitioning to warehouse use. That conflicts with TYPE3’s Announced status and blank operational field. Publish the transition as the current source state and do not call the site currently saleable.

This state sits outside ERCOT and outside the survey. Sponsoring one funds the work of charting it — pulling its interconnection queue, large loads, and price data onto the map.
